Society Doctor plot

Handsome doctor Tommy 'Sprout' Ellis's marriage proposal is initially rejected by surgery nurse Madge Wilson. But when Madge's lover - the rapidly making career of young doctor Bill Morgan - becomes involved against his principles with the rich and hypochondriac Mrs. Krane, she gives Tommy her yes. Then someone is shot by an escaped convict Butch McCarthy. A risky operation is performed under Tommy's direction. When the victim recovers, Bill proposes to Madge. Madge wants to ask Tommy if he's okay with her becoming Mrs. Morgan.
