Sister to Judas plot
Annie Frayne is a reader for the 'Rogers Publishing Company' who successfully campaigned against the publisher's publication of the new and crappy novel 'In Quest of a Virgin'. Publisher Bruce Rogers is so impressed with Annie that he considers making her his assistant. But he changes his mind when he sees her shabby household. Dejected Annie contemplates suicide.
