Paul (David Bowie) is a Prussian aristocrat who travels across Europe during World War I in search of entertainment. He only uses his charm and attraction to beautiful women for his own benefit. His escapades, however, come to an end when Paul finds himself in the decadent Berlin of the 1920s.
