Scattergood Rides High plot

Scattergood Baines is a popular shopkeeper and philosopher in the mythical town of Coldriver. Scattergood investigates why Dan Knox was evicted from the family. The Knox family is involved in horse racing and they also have a horse breeding farm. Scattergood learns that Dan is being accused of theft, but decides to hunt down the real crooks. In addition, the Knox family appears not to be happy with Dan's new girlfriend Helen Van Pelt, a wealthy young woman from the big city.
