Samorastniki plot
Slovenia in the 18th century. Ozbej has finished school and returns to the Krnice estate, where his father tells him to stay there to become the next master of the estate. Meta, a new maidservant comes to the estate and Ozbej falls in love with her. Meta becomes pregnant and Ozbej's parents torture her and chase her away. However, Ozbej cannot forget her and seeks her out again.
