Salkim Hanimin Taneleri plot
After Atatürk's death, Turkey found itself in a severe economic crisis: inflation and corruption were rampant and the government was weighed down by a high public debt. The Jews, Armenians and Greeks dominated the economic market in Turkey. In order to get out of this crisis, the government decides to introduce the 'wealth tax' (varlýk vergisi). Compared to Turkish entrepreneurs, high taxes are imposed on minority groups.
