Quicksand plot

"He's running for his life and running out of time."

When New York banker Martin Raikes flies to the south of France to find out why large sums of money are deposited by a foreign bank, he discovers more than he expected. Martin receives an anonymous tip that the money is being laundered by the Maritime Studios in Nice. Once there, he meets the charming Lela Forin and the famous, but on the wane, movie star Jake Mallows. When the financier, the Russian Oleg Butraskaya, tries to bribe Martin, he refuses and all hell breaks loose. Martin finds himself suddenly in the middle of an ongoing power struggle between French and Russian criminal gangs in the Côte d'Azur.
