Querelle plot
"It will take you into a surreal world of passion and sexuality, further than most would dare to go."
Fassbinder's latest film is a surrealistic film about the underbelly of society in the port town of Brest. Querelle is a drug-smuggling sailor who investigates his sexuality and comes into contact with the local bar owner Nono and the domineering police officer Mario. He commits a murder that the miner Gil is suspected of and uses him to get revenge on his brother, with whom he is arguing.
