Quartet plot
Film set around 1920 in the Parisian district of Montparnasse. Marya Zelli is a beautiful young woman who finds herself penniless when her husband, an art dealer, is sent to prison for theft. Heidler, a wealthy benefactor and his painting wife Lois, decide to take her into their home. Heidler, who has a reputation for women, soon manages to seduce Marya while Lois is forced to watch.
