Posledniy Poezd plot
We are writing World War II, somewhere on the German Eastern Front. In the middle of the winter of 1944, the chances of the German troops begin to change and an elderly army doctor arrives in a German position. It is not long before he realizes that the soldiers are starting their retreat, and he is advised to take the train back west in turn. The doctor refuses to follow this advice, but when he is left almost alone, he decides to start the retreat in the company of a soldier. On their journey, the two traverse a desolate winter landscape, a desolate no man's land of bitter cold, fog and snow, and the war is everywhere. Snow storms, fights, the absurd conversations between the two of them: all this only reinforces the unreal character of what happens to them.
