Antoine Moreau, a well-known French pantomime player, is forced in 1944 by the Germans to perform in the 'free state' of Terezin, the Czech Theresienstad that Hitler 'gifted' to the Jews. He has to perform one more time for the children who live there, gets paid for his work and can then return to Paris without any problems. At least, that's what the Germans claim. What they are silent about is that it is actually a major, sophisticated propaganda campaign to disguise the actual conditions in Theresienstad and thereby deceive the international Red Cross.
