Poor Pretty Eddie plot

"He does all the things you like... To forget!"

Liz Wetherly is a popular black singer. She decides to take a break, because she has been very busy lately. When her car breaks down, Liz is stranded in a remote, deserted town. Liz is forced to spend the night in Bertha's log cabin. She has a much younger friend named Eddie and is in charge of him and the other residents of the town. Eddie, who is an Elvis impersonator, wants nothing more than to become famous and wants Liz to help him do that. Liz, who wants to return home, is held by Eddie and his friends.
