Pontormo plot
Italian painter Jacopo Carrucci, also known as Pontormo, lived and worked in Florence during the Renaissance. The story is about the last years of his life, in which the Inquisition sows fear and terror among the population. Because of Pontormo's exceptional talent, he was asked by Grand Duke Cosimo de' Medici to work on frescoes in the Basilica of San Lorenzo. He meets Anna, a talented carpet weaver from northern Europe. He recognizes her talent and gives her extra attention, which makes the other weavers jealous. Meanwhile, the Inquisition investigates Pontormo's work.
