Po di Sangui plot
When nomad Dou returns to the village of Amanha Lundju (Guinea-Bissau), he is forced to discover that his twin brother Hami has died. A sad fact that also creates obligations. According to the tradition of brother-in-law marriage, he has to live with Hami's widow. Young Saly, promised to Dou, is mad with grief. To make matters worse, village wizard Calacalado orders the evacuation of the drought-ravaged village. He foresees a catastrophe, now that big-city forest keepers are targeting their trees (in fact, the souls of the dead).
