Pir Pesar plot
In an Iran ravaged by a weak economy, two middle-aged brothers live with their cruel father. Due to his fits of rage, macho behavior and violence, his second wife left him. He takes it out on his eldest son and the youngest fantasizes about killing his father. When the man rents the house above them to a young woman to marry her, her feelings for the eldest son push the seriously damaged family even further towards the abyss.

The adult half-brothers Ali [Hamed Behadad] and Reza [Mohammed Valizadegan] are still under the control of their father, Golam [Hassan Pourshirazi], who vents his bitterness over their mothers' abandonment through aggression towards his sons. Rana [Laila Hatami], a recently divorced woman who, due to financial constraints, takes advantage of Golam's offer to rent a room at a low price. Golam thinks he can persuade Rana to marry him this way, but Ali is also attracted to her. At 190 minutes, it's quite long, but after a somewhat sluggish start, it becomes exciting and compelling, thanks in large part to Pourshirazi's impressive performance.
