"Dante's Inferno is Alive and Well"
A mental institution in Tuscany in the 1930s; dr. Bonaccorsi, a passionate professor, holds sway over this small, closed-off environment, without the prevailing fascism of the outside world. However, Bonaccorsi also has a weakness for beautiful women. A weakness that he takes advantage of three women: Francesca, wife of the director; his devoted nurse Bianca, and Carla a nymphomaniac wife of a doctor. However, Anna, a new female intern, does not respond to Bonaccorsi's advances and, to top it off, does not agree with his treatment of the mentally ill in the institution.
