Lane Speer is a 16-year-old girl who spends her vacations with her family camping in the mountains. When her father dies of cancer, she has a very hard time, especially when a year later her mother marries a man Lane barely knows. He is a member of a church community, and while her parents are on their honeymoon, Lane is staying with her step-aunt who takes her to a Bible-themed girls' camp. Faced with memories of camping with her family, she tries to find peace in her new environment and cope with the death of her father.
