In 'Om det Oändliga' we are guided through the world by the soft voice of a woman. It is a kind of fairytale voice, a Scheherazade that tells us the eternal story of the lives and aspirations of mankind. Guided by this voice, we see the actions of man and life in all its banality and grandeur through a series of seemingly trivial moments that reflect the splendor of life: a girl grabs the hand of a beloved boy for the first time; a father ties his daughter's laces in the pouring rain; a young woman waits for her appointment - but also moments when human cruelty is shown in all its banality - a man drags a cross; a crippled war veteran sits on the side of the road; a father holds his dead son in his arms - like the cornucopia of life itself.
