Nosotros plot

When Romero, a man in his thirties from rural Guatemala, leaves his indigenous wife and their young child behind in their remote village, he promises them that he will return as soon as he has earned enough money to alleviate their financial problems. He moves to the city to work as a security guard, but there he is confronted with alienation, loneliness, and the macho culture that surrounds him in this unfamiliar environment. His journey becomes even more complicated when he falls head over heels in love with Nubia, a transgender entrepreneur with a small shop in the shopping mall where he patrols.
