A reasonable movie. I like the acting, but the movie rippled along without really impressing me. I found it quite entertaining, and I did get a little bit hit here and there, especially by the kids, but I wasn't blown away. 3*

Slow but captivating drama, with, as always, a strong Duris.

The situation of a man who is hardly concerned with the education of his children; who is confronted with this after the departure of his wife; and who does little with it. As concerned as Olivier is about his colleagues, it is so difficult for him to see his home and his family through the eyes of his children.

The unfortunate thing here is that too little is being done with it. His work may be the basis for his shortcomings as a father, too much of the story takes place at work, and not enough around the family.

Olivier's blinkers are most clearly visible when he tears up the postcard of his missing wife in front of his sons.
Whether he is aware of his blindness, whether he does something about it, whether he wants to do something about it: more should have been done with those questions.

Compelling, but not gripping.
