Three years after being laid off from his job at a paper factory, Man-su [Lee Byung-hun] is struggling financially, prompting his wife [Son Ye-jin] to take drastic measures to cut back on his work. When the same employer advertises a job opening, Man-su declares he has "no choice" but to outmaneuver his competitors to get the job. One way or another. This dark comedy has a good premise and some strong moments, but at 135 minutes long, it's at least half an hour too long.

A long-winded black comedy about recently fired Man-su (Lee Byung-hun), who finds himself forced to eliminate his competition for a new job. Visually, the film is impeccable, and the acting is also impeccable, but the plot drags on endlessly, and many situations are rather dull and overblown.

The first hour felt like a mediocre Netflix comedy, rather uneven and bland. It could have been done in three minutes. After that, there are some better scenes, and the time feels like it's passing by a bit faster. But it's not really enjoyable, as far as I'm concerned. I liked Ah-ga-ssi(aka The Handmaiden) much better. Good director, mediocre film, but can I summarize it like this?
