Good movie about a dying man who makes a video message for his unborn child. Of course sentiment can't be avoided with a premise like this, but it is postponed until the end. The main character is quite well developed and comes across as quite sincere. It could have been a bit shorter, but the movie has enough good moments and Michael Keaton does a fine job. A small 3.5 stars.

Nicole Kidman marathon 8#.

Also saw this movie a long time ago. I could vaguely remember that I didn't like it at all then. At least not interesting and quite boring. That was largely different now, it will never be my favorite movie, but it was much more captivating than I thought at the time.

Kidman does well, Keaton I'm never really a fan of, but he does a great job too. It all starts quite funny and light, but still with a sad edge, because you know which way it will go and it ends with a tear. They did a great job, also the scenes and the way the story is told is sometimes funny, but also moving, nicely captured with the camera. The hope Keaton has that he will still live and you see how bad he is at the end breaks your heart. Also a nice concluding ending with his father, that he still loves him, where he comes to terms
with everything he previously thought of his family.

Still an increase of my vote from 2.5* to 3.0*.
