At the end of World War II, the proud former Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini, is on the run, bound for Switzerland. Mussolini is on the run from as many as four separate groups, each with their own motives to track him down. That is, the Communist partisans, the German army, the new Italian government and its former Italian supporters.
