Moy Laskovyy i Nezhnyy Zver plot

Sergei Kamyshev visits his old friend Count Karneyev, where he meets 16-year-old Olenka. He soon notices that all the men who live in the area are doing everything they can to elope with the young lady. To everyone's surprise, Olenka's engagement to the old real estate agent Urbenin is announced. Kamyshev soon notices that Olenka does not like this when she promises him her love. They start a passionate affair, which, however, takes a dramatic turn during a hunting trip.

Ja, de prachtige muziek van Eugen Doga maakt er iets speciaals van. De beroemde huwelijkswals met de tranen van de bruid is zo'n Maxima momentje. Hoe de muziek de emotie omhoog stuwt. Een ander hoogtepunt is de bootwals op het zwanenmeer. Emil Loteanu is sowieso niet vies van het toevoegen van Roma muzikanten, de Lãutari, in zijn films. Maar hier is het echt een toegevoegde waarde.
