Me'ever Layam plot

The Goldfarb family, who survived the Holocaust, run a Nebbish shop in Tel-Aviv. It's 1962 and the IRS is after Muskuna. When the prosperous Giladi - also a survivor from the camp - comes over from Canada, it seems as if the promised land is there. They do feel like leaving; sexy daughter Avital is sent ahead because of an unwanted acquaintance with a loafer, but twelve-year-old son Alter, who performs daredevil on the Jordanian border, does not want to join.
