Marquise plot
"The rise and fall of a beauteous actress"
Marquise is a graceful ballerina who dances half-naked to attract customers to her parents' place. It is at such a moment that she is noticed by Gros Ren, actor at l'Illustre-Théâtre. She marries him and he promises her a successful acting career. However, her first steps are so catastrophic that Molière puts her back with the dancers, a phase she prefers to leave behind as soon as possible. But then Racine appears. He thinks Marquise is the best actress of the moment and proposes to write Andromaque for her. From that moment on, she is torn by the love for both Gros Ren and Racine. In addition, she must decide whether to stay with Molière, who launched her, or whether she will become a star actress for Floridor.
