Mandalay plot

Russian refugee Tanya Borisoff is suddenly left penniless in Rangoon, Burma by her lover Tony Evans. She becomes a nightclub hostess but is dead unhappy. She decides to squeeze out by boat to Mandalay via the Irrawadi River. There she meets alcohol-addicted doctor Gregory Burton, who is on his way to an area where an epidemic has broken out. Slowly they fall in love with each other. But then it turns out that Tony is also on the boat.
