Maixabel plot
The true story 'Maixabel' tells the story of Maixabel Lasa, whose husband, the politician Juan María Jáuregui, was murdered in 2000 by the Basque terrorist group ETA. Eleven years later, Maixabel receives a striking request: one of the terrorists involved in the attack wants to meet Maixabel in the prison where he is serving his sentence since breaking ties with the terror group. Although she has her doubts at first, Maixabel decides to comply with his request, because she believes everyone deserves a second chance.

Psychological drama with a strong acting role for Luis Tosar.
Basque terrorists murder a local politician and are sentenced to many years in prison. The widow and daughter are left inconsolable with their grief, but the guilty parties are given the chance to express their remorse after years in informal sessions where the two parties are given the chance to sit opposite each other.
The film starts off a bit slow but I found the second hour to be very good and ensures that you are drawn into the dilemma with excellent dialogue. Maixabel is looking for answers for the senseless violence, the terrorist is looking for forgiveness for his act. After seeing this film, you can only have admiration for people like Maixabel, who can let go of feelings of hatred with mental strength. The respect goes equally to the terrorist, who has the courage to face his actions.
