"Another Paramount Silver Jubilee celebration hit!"
In the 17th century, a witch hunt among the Puritan population began in Salem, Massachusetts. The two lovers, Barbara Clarke (Claudette Colbert) and Roger Coverman (Fred MacMurray), become the subject of this witch hunt when a hateful girl, Ann Goode (Bonita Granville), claims to be possessed, accusing Barbara of witchcraft. If the superstitious residents of Salem are convinced that Barbara is a witch, she will be killed at the stake.
