Love these types of videos. A typical dysfunctional family as we know them from American indies. Not super original anymore, but I still enjoy it. As Norma said, a successful atmosphere, enhanced by the winter cold.

There is also excellent acting, by almost everyone actually. I immediately wondered how many Culkins are walking around like that. Well, at least Rory is convincing (also good in Mean Creek).

Beautiful picture, indeed reminiscent of The Ice Storm, but slightly less compelling. Nevertheless, a smooth 3.5*.

Very nice film about struggling with feelings, relational tensions and the search for affection. Not great, but definitely worth it. Especially because of the beautiful roles of Rory Culin and Jill Hennessy.

As has been noted by others, thematically the film shows some similarity to The Ice Storm (1997), but - as gauke rightly notes - director Derick Martini is unfortunately no Ang Lee . This also applies to most contemporary directors.

Worthwhile family drama, indebted to better films such as The Ice Storm, but easily digestible as a snack due to excellent dialogues and acting, and also nicely depicted. The facade of two middle class families soon shows cracks.

Quite a few references to Star Wars via the bedroom of milk slipper Rory Culkin. There is indeed at least 1 anachronism: the character Lando (Calrissian) was only in The Empire Strikes Back from 1980 and the film is set in the late 1970s. Kieran Culkin, who initially seems like the laconic Roman in Succession but later shows more emotion, plays the tougher big brother who turns out not to be such a huge hunk after all.

The highlight of the film is whenthe bomb explodes. Nice to see how the characters show something authentic. Rory's messing around with the girl next door who is clearly into experiments and whom he is horny for is not made more beautiful than it is. Efficient playing time, but not much happens.
