"The more they live it up the more they have to live it down!"
Joe Lampton (Laurence Harvey) thought he had made it big by marrying his boss' daughter Susan (Jean Simmons). But he finds out that his father-in-law is starting to rule his life. The fact that his wife also turns out to be having an affair is the reason for Joe to do something about this situation.
