Lhing Vjags Kyi Ma Ni Rdo Vbum plot
In a remote monastery in Tibet, a young monk lives between legend and reality, between Tibetan tradition and Chinese novelties. Although he is quite curious, due to his daily religious and household duties, he has no time at all for worldly affairs. In the days around the New Year's Eve he is allowed to go home where he stays with his parents, brothers and sister. The highlight of the holiday is fascinated watching television and a visit to an old-fashioned Tibetan opera, which has pitched its tents in the village. Bad things happen too: an old villager suddenly dies and a bum tempts the village children to watch a lesser video.
