Le Septième Ciel plot

Mathilde is sick. She steals toys from stores. She faints from time to time. She no longer goes to work. Her husband Nico cannot - or does not want to - see what she shows him. He is a surgeon and these kinds of symptoms elude his perception. Mathilde meets a doctor who treats her with hypnosis sessions. Or is the doctor a fantasy of Mathilde, created to save herself? Still Mathilde feels better; in no time she is even fully recovered. But now it is suddenly Nico who becomes ill. He loves his wife dearly, that much is certain. More than anyone else, but before his eyes his wife changes into someone else, someone he doesn't know how to love.
