Lake Los Angeles plot

Francisco is a middle-aged Cuban immigrant who takes in immigrants. Cecilia is a ten-year-old Mexican girl who has no family to raise her. When Cecilia is left alone, she turns the desert into a fantasy world by creating stories and characters that help her survive in the hopeless and empty environment. As Francisco and Cecilia travel through the once-promised land, they give each other support and hope.
