Laddie plot
"The thrill of good neighbors...the fragrance of fresh apple butter...the music of the gurgling brook at love time... These are the priceless heart throbs that flood the soul with sunshine in this wonderful picture for people who live!"
The year is 1853. The eldest son of a large Indiana farming family, Laddie Stanton has a secret romance with his beautiful English neighbor Pamela Pryor. With the help of his young sister, whom he calls "Little Sister," Laddie exchanges love letters with Pamela in the woods. Pamela's reserved and cautious manner of expression makes her considered conceited by Laddie's other sisters, while Pamela's genteel father Charles Pryor shows some social disdain for Farmer Laddie.
