La Vie Est un Roman plot
The film consists of three intertwined stories about a castle in the Ardennes. On the eve of World War I, Count Forbek decides to build the castle in the Ardennes. After the war, he uses the castle to start a "utopian society", for which he brainwashes his friends, including his former fiancée Livia and her husband. Today the castle is used as an alternative school and during the summer holidays as a conference center for educational matters. The film follows the behind-the-scenes relationships at such a conference, while the children left over from the holidays make up their own Medieval tales of freeing the prisoners from the castle's dungeons.
