La Société du Spectacle plot
Film by Guy Debord, based on his 1967 book of the same name, both bringing ideas about consumer society, capitalism and their effect on everyday life, conveying the ideas of the Situationists. The images are heavily influenced by the anti-capitalist movement and post-structuralism, by thinkers such as Jean Baudrillard. It is a collage of shots of Hollywood films, Soviet 'collective heroes' experiments, soft-core porn, archive footage of historical events such as the student uprising of '68 in France, and scenes from everyday life.
