La Saison des Hommes plot

Aïcha, who comes from the island of Djerba, is married off to Saïd at a young age. Her husband, like all other male residents of the island, stays in Tunis 11 months a year to earn money. Aïcha stays behind with the other women on Djerba, where there is nothing to do except the festive return of the men, once a year. Aïcha is an experienced weaver. She wants to go to town with her husband to help him in his carpet shop. But her husband demands that she first give him a son.
