Vincenzo narrowly escaped death after an accident in a coal mine. He stays in Amsterdam for a few days before returning to Italy. His friend Federico has a girl among the city's renowned prostitutes, but it takes a long time before Vincenzo - a real shy young man - becomes familiar with Els, the girl he loves most. After a nice weekend together, it's time for him to leave, but... his love for Els is very great and when Vincenzo returns to the mine he hates, he looks forward with anticipation to the closure so that he can see his beloved again. ..
