A meta film about making a film with Truffaut as director in his own film. Truffaut takes the glamor out of filmmaking for a moment, which can also be seen in this film during an interview with Bisset's character when the questions are about her private life rather than about the film itself. Truffaut wants to demonstrate that filmmaking is not just glitz and glamour, but first and foremost a profession with people who are busy with their profession. But before you know it, professional filmmaking reveals a new layer of private problems among cast & crew, actors who are purely professional and actors who always want to see their star in the spotlight. With the recording director's knitting wife on the sidelines as a witness in the front row.

Fascinating film with a love for the profession and intriguing about the thin line between reality and film, between craftsmanship and the illusion of the film world.

Good film about a director who starts work on his new film called 'Meet Pamela'. The entire film-making process is depicted here in a playful but also believable way (even the soap-like developments on the set appear realistic). The beautiful opening scene immediately sets the tone. Beautiful camera work and this look behind the scenes was clearly made with love for the profession.

Interesting film about what goes on behind the scenes of making a film. Always nice to see a film within a film. Truffaut shows what is involved and shows that for many or even for all it is just work, a normal job, each with its own concerns and difficulties.

Issues with the actors, problems with the cat, discussions with the producer and so on. Quite a funny scene with that cat. The start of the film was also an experience to untangle all the details of who had to do what at what time.

Very realistically presented too, I think. Sometimes reality and fiction blended together and I didn't really know whether people were in Meet Pamela or not, but that made it extra nice.
