La Faute de l'Abbé Mouret plot

Serge Mouret is a gentle and devout young priest in a turbulent rural parish. When he falls in an accident and loses his memory, he is cared for by Albine, the beautiful carefree niece of the outspoken atheist, Jeanbernat. He recovers from his injuries and falls in love with her. The feelings are reciprocal. When he regains his memory he realizes that he has committed a serious sin.
