Jim Thorpe -- All-American plot

Biographical film about the life of Jim Thorpe, a versatile sportsman and two-time Olympic champion. Jim Thorpe is of Native American descent and grew up on a reservation in Oklahoma. He becomes Olympic champion in the pentathlon and decathlon at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm and also excels in baseball and American football. Then the newspaper Discovery published that Thorpe played baseball at Carlisle Indian School at the time and would have been paid for it. When Thorpe, who knows no wrong, admits that he was paid $25 a week in 1909 and 1910, those who had already struggled with his skin color and "questionable" parentage saw their chance. He is not a pure amateur and therefore should not have participated in the 1912 Games. His dream of becoming a coach is shattered and his life takes a drastic turn. He also has problems privately and his marriage is about to explode.
