Young and ambitious civil servant John has received an environmental permit for a huge nickel mine in Kainuu. The charismatic and strong-willed Pekka Stern, led by Talvivaara, uses an entirely new method of mining minerals. The mine is much needed for employment in the community. Slowly but surely, Jussi begins to suspect that they may not have been telling the whole truth. The new mining process is not as harmless as initially thought. Then Jussi is offered a new interesting job. He must now choose which side to choose.
