Inferno d'August Strindberg plot
In 1896, the exuberant playwright August Strindberg decides to move from Sweden to France, the heart of the cultural and artistic world in Europe. When he arrives, he locks himself in a hotel room for two years. In this way he avoids Parisian life and its vanities. He also views the stage and literature with horror. Convinced that he will never write again, from then on he devotes his time to a multifaceted scientific investigation. Alone and with his growing insanity before his eyes, the author's hotel then becomes an imaginary theater haunted by the characters Strindberg created in Sweden in his previous play.
