If I Were Free plot
Sarah is trapped in a marriage to the ever drunk and abusive Tono. Gordon, a funny and depressed lawyer, is lost in a loveless marriage to the aloof Catherine. One night, Sarah and Gordon meet by chance in Paris. They slowly fall for each other, not out of excessive passion, but out of their shared loneliness, sadness and longing for human warmth. However, society calls their love adultery which makes it difficult for them to continue.
