Hokusai plot
Hokusai is a talented painter, yet he lives in poverty. Then he is discovered by the publisher Tsutaya Juzaburo. He loses heart when painters like Utamaro and Skaraku become popular. Still, Tsutaya Juzaburo encourages him to use his unique style and then let his talent flourish. Then Hokusai learns that the government killed his friend Ryutei Tanehiko because he wouldn't cooperate with a ban on his work. Then he decides to create a work in honor of his unshakable friend.
