Her Great Price plot
Before guests arrive for a party at her apartment, Agnes Lambert, a writer of unmarketable fiction, begins to revise one of her stories because she realizes it lacks drama and emotion. Later she begins a romance with Tom Leighton, but although Tom loves her, he is already engaged to Ruth Beresford, who was recently blinded by an explosion. Realizing the impossibility of their affair, Agnes decides to commit suicide, but when Ruth, whose sight has been restored by surgery, discovers that Tom no longer loves her, she frees him to marry his new lover.
