Heimkehr plot
"Thirty-five old Nikola comes back home after he had left a year ago, in a quarrel."
Nikola, once a successful musician, returns to his family in Stuttgart. His parents Anica and Vlado have lived in Germany for 35 years, but want to make their dream come true: a hotel in their homeland Croatia. Vlado is a tough, ambitious father, whose relationship with Nikola becomes difficult when his youngest son Joso wants to go to Croatia. The third son, Branko, committed suicide after participating in the war in the Balkans. On the eve of their departure, Nikola tells his father that his career has failed and accuses him of causing chaos in their family.
