Haut le Vent plot
In 1906 in a Basque village, Ascarra has an argument with another farmer, Esteban Etchegaray, who commits suicide shortly after their altercation. Fearing that he will be held responsible for his death for the rest of his life, Ascarra leaves the country to settle in Argentina with his son François. In 1940, the latter became an important industrialist in the field of import-export in Buenos Aires. In order to sign a major contract with the French government, his company sends him to Paris, accompanied by his son Joachim and Brécy, his confidant.
