Great Expectations plot

Orphan Pip discovers through his lawyer, Mr. Jaggers, that a mysterious benefactor wants to ensure he becomes a gentleman. Reunited with the woman who always cared for him, Miss Havisham, and his first love, the beautiful but emotionally cold Estella, he discovers that the spinster has gone mad, having been abandoned at the altar as a young woman. This has turned his protégée into a twisted, callous heartbreaker.
